The courses give an overview on a broad spectrum of databases and methods applied to analyse climate change and its impacts on forest ecosystems.

Based on the experiences and results of recent research projects the lectures introduce the different aspects of climate impact assessments (e.g. field observations, monitoring, modelling, statistical analysing methods).

Participants will get insight into GIS-based, integrated data processing methods and their application in the development of adaptation strategies.

A podium discussion will focus on limitations and uncertainties of the available data and methods and on the future challenges of the complex climate impact research in forestry.

The summer school combines lectures, case studies, practical exercises in small groups as well as excursions to climate change affected forests.
